Safeguarding Reminders - Use of Social Media

Brothers and Sisters in Christ!

The ACFC Pastoral Council and Technology Team, would like to remind all Parishoners, Devotional and Faith Communities, Volunteers, and Volunteers with responsibilities (Coordinators, and Leads) about remaining compliant with Safeguarding Protocols especially with the use of Social Media.

Though we are encouraged to use any social media platforms to promote our community's way of life, charisim, and other forms of evangelisation and mission work. We are also highly encouraged to police ourselves on how to use our social medial accounts and pages.

May I remind all groups again, LIVESTREAMING or VIDEOING of Masses and celebrations without proper consent is NOT PERMITTED. Not only violates people's privacy, this also creates a violation against your social media pages and accounts, and the chaplaincy in terms of copyright. Please do not be offended, if you are asked to stop livestreaming or videoing if there has been no proper consent organised. This has also been sent as a memo to everyone in April 2024, which is linked below for your reference.

For more information, you can reach our to Safeuarding Complaints person Michael Mitra at Safeguarding@acfc-catholic.org.nz or email Brian Gonzales at Technology@acfc-catholic.org.nz in regards with Technology Use
