To All Volunteers of our chaplaincy,
To be able to continue to serve in the Chaplaincy, the Catholic Diocese of Auckland now requires all Volunteers (paid or unpaid) to do the following below (every three years):
To be police vetted
To attend at least a seminar on safeguarding by the diocese.
This workshop will be facilitated by Lisa-May Gray, The Diocese's Safeguarding coordinator.
Required Volunteer groups and committees that are required to be police vetted are as follows
ACFC Leadership Team
Ministers of Communion
Ministers of the Word
Children's Liturgy
Sacristans
Members of the Service and Outreach Work.
Hospitality.
Social Media and Communications.
Any committees, groups, communities that are giving outreach work, especially on children, and persons with disabilities.
You are required to submit two forms of identification with your Consent and Request form (available for download below). For more information on forms of Identification Required, can be found on the NZ Police Website.
To be able to attend this seminar, you must do the following by the end of Thursday 20th July 2023:
Please get these forms filled out, with your chosen identification items, by emailing to info@acfc-catholic.org.nz. Alternatively this can be done on the day of the seminar.
