Important Dates and Events
December 2024 to February 2025 are jammed pack with events from different groups as follows below at St Benedict’s Church.
Immaculate Conception – 29th November to 7th December for Novena (Sunday to Friday at 7:00pm, Saturdays at 7:30pm), 8th December for the Feast Day (commemorated, part of the Sunday Mass at 11:30am).
Simbang Gabi - 15th December to 23rd December, starts at 7:30pm, except 17th December which will start at 8pm.
Christmas Masses – 24th December at 11pm, 25th December at 11:30am.
New Year Day Mass (Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God) – 1st January at 11:30am (No New Year Eve Mass).
Black Nazarene – 5th January 2025, during 11:30am Mass.
Sto Nino (Sinulog) – 10th January 2025 to 18th January 2025, starts at 6:30pm, Feast Day on the 19th January (No Mass at St Benedict’s Church, but will be at North Shore Events “EventAFinda” Stadium).
Important Reminder for Lay Ministers
Just a reminder to all Lay Ministers and Choir groups, if you are planning to go on holiday, or have special work arrangements. You must let your Ministry Direct Coordinators as soon as possible to avoid issues with scheduling.

Immaculate Conception Novena and Fiesta
The novena for the Immaculate Conception (organised by the FCC, Filipino Catholic Community) will be from the 29th November to 7th December, starting at 7pm Sundays to Fridays, on Saturdays (on 30th November and 7th December) will start at 7:30pm.
For those who are attending the Novena Masses. We encouraged everyone to donate non-perishable goods during the Mass. All donated goods are to be give out to New Migrant Arrivals for this year.
Lay Ministers (Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Lectors, and Altar Servers), please reach out to your ministry direct coordinator for your assignments.
The Fiesta will be celebrated on the 8th December during the Sunday Filipino Mass with Rosary starting at 11:00am, followed by the Mass at 11:30am. All Marian Devotional Groups are invited to bring their own statues to be used and displayed during the Fiesta.
ACFC Christmas Party
The Christmas Party this year will take place on the 8th December 2024 after the Sunday Filipino Mass. This year’s Christmas Party will be focused on the New Migrants. All new Filipino migrants that have arrived this year can register with Lina Magalong.
Simbang Gabi & Christmas and New Year Mass
Simbang Gabi will be from the 15th December to 23rd December starting at 7:30pm. Except 17th December, which will start later at 8:00pm. Any devotional group or families who would like to sponsor a night for snacks/food after the Mass, please reach out via email to info@acfc-catholic.org.nz.

There will be two Masses for Christmas, one on the 24th December (Tuesday) at 11pm, and one on the 25th December (Wednesday) at 11:30am. There will be no Mass on New Years Eve (31st December 2024), but there will be a Mass on New Years Day (1st January 2025) at 11:30am.
Sto Nino (Sinulog) 2025
The Novena for Sto Nino will take place again at St Benedict’s Church, which will start from the 10th January to 18th January 2025 each day will start at 6:30pm. The Fiesta will be celebrated at EventAFinda Stadium (North Shore Events Centre) on the 19th January 2025 (Sunday). Car Blessings after the Mass
Car blessings after the mass will only be done on 1st and 2nd Sundays of each month. If you want to have your car blessed, please approach Jonathan Arcular (02102791249) for further assistance.
Parking Reminders
All who are attending Masses and other events at St Benedict's church are required to be attentive and aware where you park your vehicle. For more detailed information, please follow the link below for more information.
It is good to see that we are getting less complaints about parking around our home church. We would like to mention this as a gentle reminder to all po and feel free to share this information.
Wilsons Carpark is Free from 12pm Saturdays until 10pm Sundays for church use only. This is a Service Level Agreement between St Benedict's Parish and Wilsons Carpark
On Street Parking is free in the weekends. Please be reminded that Mondays to Fridays, Parking is free at St Benedict's Street from 5:30pm, and Alex Evans Street from 6:30pm, until 8am the following weekday. To double check, please use the AT Park App, or check the Parking Machines and signboards available posted on the sidewalks.
Tournament Parking locations at St Benedicts Street and Upper Queen Street, St Benedict's Parish do not have a Service Level Agreement. Please pay for your use in any of the carpark places at tpark.co.nz.
NOTE: If you are a coordinator, leader, or organiser of a committee, devotional group, or faith community. Shall you require to have free parking outside of the Agreed Free Period on the first point above, please email office@stbenedictsauckland.org.nz at least 5 days or more.
Volunteers for Social Media and Technology Team
Do you have background skills in supporting Technology (such as Audio and Visual, Photography, Videography) and Social Media? Or you have a background in Public Relations and Communications, and need more experience? You can volunteer in the Chaplaincy's Social Media and Technology Team! Please note, Social Media and Technology Team Members are required to attend Safeguarding seminars, which are posted below this monthly update.
Managing your Rubbish after the use of any gathering spaces (Meeting Rooms and Crypt)
All Hall hirers and users are responsible for bringing home their rubbish with them. All rubbish MUST be removed from the site at the end of their event. Please do not use the rubbish and recycling bins within the Church grounds as this is only for the residents who are living on the property.
The church crypt, parking, and adjacent premises MUST be left clean, and in good and tidy order. Additional charges may be incurred if rubbish is NOT removed off-site. Thank you.

Bins nearby the main door of the church's main gathering hall are only for Tenants within the Church compound only.
