Greetings brothers and sisters,
It is with great sadness to hear the news of the death of Rev. Father Roberto Ruben C. Elago, in Tagaytay Seminary on the 30th January 2023. Fr. Ruben Elgao was the chaplain for the Filipino Community (the ACFC) for the Diocese of Auckland from 1999 to 2012, after Fr Manuel Jadraque, MSP.
The Chaplaincy sends it's condolences to the Elago family, and also to his friends here in the Diocese of Auckland and to other areas that he had been a missionary.
All are invited to attend the Memorial Mass for Fr Ruben at 7:30pm (Wednesday, 1st February 2023) at St Benedict's Parish (1 St Benedicts Parish, Eden Terrace, Auckland 1010). The Memorial mass will be presided by Fr Lio Rotor, and will be concelebrated by other Filipino Priests. All attendees to this Memorial Mass are advised to wear white, as a colour motif to celebrate Fr Ruben's life and to give thanks to the Lord for Fr Ruben's Mission here in New Zealand.
