To all ACFC family, all Filipino church communities, and friends of Fr Mario.
We all have been awakened earlier yesterday, 14 March 2023 upon hearing the sad news re the passing on of Fr Mario Dorado, OFMCap.
His untiring and unselfish support for the St Benedict's church, and all churches he served has truly touched us in so many ways. This unfortunate news has left a big void in the hearts of many, especially in the Auckland Catholic Filipino Chaplaincy (ACFC) Community.
At these difficult times, please let us comfort each other with the good memories Fr Mario has left us with.
May we all continue to remember him in our prayers. He is truly a great loss for our Filipino community.
If you want to enjoin the ACFC community in honouring him for the last time, mass offering schedules are as follows:
Funeral Mass, 25 March, Saturday, 3pm (Feast of the Annunciation)
at the Cathedral of St Patrick and St Joseph Church, 43 Wyndham St, Auckland.
Other wake masses will be the following:
18 March, Saturday, 11am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2 Lavelle Road, Henderson, Auckland 0612.
19 March, Sunday, 6PM at St Dominic's Church, 34 Bolton Street, Blockhouse Bay, Auckland 0600 (overnight).
20 March, Monday, 11AM at Our Lady of Lourdes, 7 Glendale Road, Glen Eden, Auckland 0602.
24 March, Friday, 7PM, St Benedict’s Church, 1 St Benedict’s St, Eden Terrace, Auckland 1010 (overnight).
The Wake Mass on the 24 March, and the Funeral Mass on the 25 March, will be livestreamed on ACFC Chaplaincy’s YouTube Channel at ACFCChaplaincy-NZ (https://www.youtube.com/@ACFCChaplaincy-NZ).
Fr Mario's remains will be brought back to the Philippines and thus we anticipate funeral bills with this arrangement as part of his last wishes.
