Immaculate Conception 2022 Information

Brothers and Sisters!

This year's Immaculate Conception will be celebrated on its actual feast day on the 8th December 2022 (Thursday). All Novena Days and Fiesta Day (29th November to 8th December) will be starting at 7pm, the General theme is "Immaculate Mother Guiding Us on Our Synodal Journey".

From the first day of the novena, until the feast day and 11th December. All Marian Devotees are requested to participate, and to bring their Marian images to be put at the front of the altar. Please see the Procession Details section, important information for all Marian Faith Communities.

All Novena and Fiesta Days will be held at St Benedict's Parish of Newton (1 St Benedict's Street, Newton, Auckland 1010). All information of scheduled Novena Sponsors, Choirs, Readers, and Mass Celebrants are posted below.

The Feast Day on the 8th December (Thursday) will be at 7:00pm, The Mass will be celebrated by Fr Mario Dorado, with El Shaddai leading the community with songs.

Procession Details

All Marian Devotees are requested to participate in this novena, for Marian Faith Communities, your images will be in place at the front of the altar for all of nine days novena, the fiesta on the 8th December, and on Sunday Filipino Mass on the 11th December.

Please prepare your images or icons of the Blessed Mother on the following dates before the start of the Masses below:

  • 29th November - First Day of the Novena at 7pm

  • 8th December - Feast Day at 7pm

  • 11th December - Commemoration of the Feast Day at 11am

The procession will be around the church grounds. So we suggest that all images or icons must not be life size, but a reasonable size for you to carry. There will be steps or stairs as part of the procession route.

All Songs on the PowerPoint are to be in sync with the given template below. All PowerPoint items are to be emailed to info@acfc-catholic.org.nz and brian.gonzales@outlook.com. The PowerPoint files are requested to be emailed two days before your scheduled date, so that it can be checked for formatting and visual standards. PowerPoints to be given on USB on the day will not be accepted, Choirs are allowed to bring in their own laptops to be hooked up to the Visual system! For reference, the template is given below for Immaculate Conception Novenas Only. For reference, the mentioned template is below, no font or text size must be smaller than size 75.

Novena Mass Schedules for Choir, Mass Readers and Novena Sponsors

Note: Novena Sponsors are in their own will to organise to offer non-perishable goods to be brought up during offertory part of the Mass. All offered non-perishable goods will be used and shared to new migrants, during the new migrants Christmas Party on the 11th December. Other persons or groups that are not scheduled sponsors are also welcome to offer any goods for donation during the offertory.

For Sponsors and Choirs for the nine days novena, the manifesto or detailed information about the rosary, daily novena prayers, and post communion prayers can be downloaded below.

The document has recommended hymns or songs that can be used for the novena.

Sponsor Responsibilities

Sponsors are responsible for the following parts of all 9 days as follows:

  • Rosary

  • Novena Daily Prayers

  • Reading and Leading the Prayers of the Faithful

  • Post Communion Prayer
